2. News: Davis Bacon wage determinations released for weatherization
The Department of Labor has begun issuing
Davis Bacon wage determinations for weatherization workers in several states - establishing the minimum wage that weatherization workers must be paid in each county for work has been funded through the Recovery Act.  Though this applies primarily to the Weatherization Assistance Program, weatherization funded through other Recovery funds such as the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grants or the State Energy Program would also be subject to these minimum wages.

3. Event: Green The Block National Day of Service. September 11, 2009
Green For All and the Hip Hop Caucus have joined together to launch a new campaign,
Green the Block, to educate and mobilize low-income communities and communities of color to ensure a voice and stake in the clean-energy economy. On September 11th, 2009, Green the Block will stand in solidarity with the President and United We Serve for a national day of service.

Training providers can use this opportunity to shine a light on the important role they play in retooling our country for clean-energy jobs while providing opportunities to low-income communities and communities of color.
