From the Projects to Politics: Carl and Louis Stokes                        Current Exhibitions at Western Reserve, call 216.721.5722 for days and times                                                                                                   More on the Stokes

Exhibit                                                               Parking and Directions                                                                       Price: $5-$8.50  Western Reserve Historical Society, 10825 East Blvd

200-piece exhibit documents the lives of the sibling lawmakers. Louis even donated personal papers that he accumulated as a congressman. But some memorabilia almost didn't make it. Last May, someone accidentally walked off with Louis' suitcase at a Washington airport. A month later, a traveling businessman realized his mistake. "Some road warrior put it in his closet and never opened it up," says museum spokeswoman Rita Kueber. "[Louis] was grateful to have it back, because the contents can't be replaced."
