OUR VISION
Reminder: November 29, 2008 we published the Cleveland Secret Club Blog. Please visit us and give us your comments. Be forewarned ... the blog is controversial, political, progressive, thought-provoking, sometimes comedic or will hit you with political satire. Above all, it is extremely interesting.
EXCITING NEWS! A few years ago, I had a vision .... to create an institute that would enhance the lives of others, be a center of learning and positive life change for our youth, and bring economic vitality to the Cleveland area.
Our theme "Step Outside the Box". You often hear people say “think outside the box”, where thought is predominate. When I say “Step Outside the Box”, action is predominate. I want you to move, take action, explore, do things you’ve never done before, step outside your comfort zone. The institute would be and create an environment that is conducive to helping one "step outside the box".
How Cleveland's Secret Club Came to Be: From that vision, I began working on plans that would bring economic vitality and prosperity and positive life change for all individuals who wanted to participate, and particularly African Americans. With "the vision" and a rough draft of "the plan", I called one of my best friends for her input. We had our first meeting on March 11, 2006. When "The Secret" was released in October 2006, it was a sign that "the vision" should go forward. January 2007, Cleveland's Secret Club was formed consisting of a core of five close friends. Presently, our members and friends stretch from New York to California, and worldwide.
The Website: I believe in trying to achieve balance in one's life. With our previous website (Cleveland's Secret Club), I wanted to create balance. I also wanted to focus on the history and culture of African Americans, and their aspirations and contributions.
OUR present site, Clevelands Place of Dreams (and Truth), has a PLACE OF DREAMS page which focuses on dreams, beliefs, ideas and ideals and things that I believe help a person achieve balance in their life, create the life that they desire, to achieve whatever it is they wish to achieve or if they wanted, to simply dream. This new website is more organized and much easier to navigate (thank God); and it still remains a fun place ... fun to explore, still has all kinds of treasures and pleasures. This website (which depending on the topic or page or link, changes daily, weekly and monthly) and our club and the institute is a work in progress. CLEVELANDS PLACE OF DREAMS (and Truth) is a Place of Learning, Empowerment, Dreams, Beliefs, and Possibilities!
